I was lucky to see Jean Michel Jarre in Grenoble in Fall 97. Yet, I wish he would come perform in Montreal, Canada. Are there any future plans for a North American tour?

I'm so happy to read that so many fans find that the techno-remixes are not good.

Everybody, listen up: There is no way Jarre has lost his touch in the recent year, just listen to Oxygene 7-13!!! You can't say because Sony is issuing remixes that Jarre has lost his creative power. His music is still as fresh and vibrant and powerful, dreamy etc. as before. JARRE ROCKS, you are the best!!

To Arek Sycko: If you know only latest remixes and Oxygene 7-13 then you don't know real Jarre's music at all. To Mr. Jarre: Is that what you want? Your name will from now be associated with latest remixes of your music. Every new fan will be a fan of techno-remixes not of your REAL music. To SONY: Thank you very much. You should be proud of you. The good name of Jean Michel Jarre is ruined.

A comment in regard to remixes (inspired by Jens' text below here); I think we should start considering that remixes and remix albums are the releases of the record company, not the artist. For example, the forthcoming Odyssey compilation is actually a "Sony album" (with songs by Jarre), not a "Jarre album". Only the original albums should be considered a genuine JMJ album, as long as all the remix releases are commissioned by Sony. Jarre says "the remixes are a good way of prolonging the life of an album and exploring the music more. An album should not necessarily be the final presentation of music". I agree to some extent that this is true, but hey - why don't Jarre himself explore his own music and release selfmade remixes? That's an idea... (which was indeed followed in the 70s and 80s)

Yes, I know: I do not have to buy *everything* released by Jarre... And I don't! Somebody is just as mighty as his fellow fans will buy everything without asking or complaining. Guess why Bill Gates became so powerful... I think Jarre will feel, if his output is mistaken, when some fans will start blocking his sales. And it is and was the same with all of my once so favoured artists like OMD or Heaven 17: they are now *dead* due to many unbearable releases. I hope that I don't have to say the same about Jean-Michel Jarre in a few years...

About the remixes discussion: I prefer the so-called remixes from the 80's (or from Polydor), because these were extended remixes with additional bass, noises or other gimmicks, made by professional remixers such as F. Kervorkian or Jarre himself. The remixes from the Sony phase left me undecided, some were good and some were utterly bad... Nowadays I pre-listen to the CD maxis to determine, if they are worth buying or not. But it wasn't so before, so I think the direction Jarre and Sony are tracking isn't such a right one. To me the release of the Complete Oxygene with the unnecessary O in Moscow remix (which wasn't even something from the Moscow concert - liars!) was some kind of joke to squeeze some more money out of collectors. The hunting for *everything* from Jarre is over - due to releases which didn't deserve the brandmark "Jean Michel Jarre".

Hi, I've just recently became a fan of your music. It was by accident, I've heard Oxygene - by DJ Vertigo, and just loved the synth lines, and after I found out that it was based on your music I bought the Oxygene 7-13 and it was great. I also really like the new dance remixes of your songs, like by Sash!, those are GREAT.

I first heard your music by borrowing a tape of Revolutions from my teammate during Desert Storm. Sounded even better when I finally got home to hear it on a real stereo system. Excellent sound!
