I've been a Jarre Fan for so many years I can't remember, and at first I was shocked by the new sound of the Oxigene album, but then I remember how shocked I was with Every album I heard before and as it happened then, I ended loving the new material. Congratulantions Jarre, You've still got it!. On the other hand... Back in 1992 a concert in Mexico was cancelled, any chances for a new one, in this or next millenium?

Oh, just a small addition: Have you seen the voting results on the Galaxie Jarre site? More than half the votes were in favour of techno remixes by JMJ's music, so maybe it's a good thing after all? For some, at least.

Ok, so there is a remix discussion going on here! It's true that Polydor released JMJ mixes, but if I am not wrong the first "techno" remixes came with Chronologie, that is 1993 and onwards. Before that what we got was mainly mixes made by JMJ or his crew, like the extended versions. If you are a real Jarre fan I think you like the earlier remixes better. We could even recognise the track... Polydor did not drown us with unrecognisable remixes! As for Sony being distributor in France, that's correct, but all the remixes we have seen the last year has been commissioned by Sony International (or whatever division) for them to use as promotion for JMJ. Promotion is Ok of course, but I would prefer it in a more tasteful way. I don't believe that Disques Dreyfus are the ones who decide that unrecognisable remixes shall drown us... Looking forward to more comments on this subject right here in the Guestbook.

About remixes, didn't we see remixes when Jean Michel was with Polydor? Yes, we did. Face facts, whatever label Jean Michel Jarre is with, there will always be remixes - like it or loathe it. To blame Sony, or anyother label is unfair - after all in France, Sony are only distributors, the label is Disques Dreyfus...

I have to agree with Adam Iganowicz who comments on the Sony remix situation. Sony did a nice job launching Oxygene 7-13, but then things got worse. First they released a bunch of Oxygene 8 remixes that most of them were not good. Several not-so-good remixes of other tracks followed. Then we got the new remasters which were haunted with several errors, some of them could have been avoided by simple proof-reading! Then came Complete Oxygene, which I think was a Complete Rip-off. Now there is RV-98 and Odyssey to worry about. I have heard the new remix compilation and I can promise you that the remix situation is not getting any better... (some of the tracks on the "new" album is from the 1997 single releases...) All in all, I think Sony is trying to squeeze as much money as possible from Jarre without encouraging his creative work. Well, we have only seen Jarre work with Sony for a year so let's hope things will improve in the future. Thanx for the attention!! (Please feel free to email me with comments, anybody!)

Although I know, that Jarre never reads what we are writing here, I have to write this: What are you doing, Jean Michel? Or maybe the question should be: What Sony has done with/to you? I've heard RV'98 and I must say it is the worst piece I have ever heard. "Boom tsk" and "POM POM" - nothing more to add. Where is old good Rendez-Vous 4 and, first of all, where is the old good Jean Michel Jarre's music????? It looks like the money is the most important thing in you life. And what about your true fans? I do not thing the true Jarre's fans like "Boom Tsk" and "POM POM"... Maybe it's high time to stop with this, maybe even to forget about the deal with Sony. SONY HAS TOTALLY DESTROYED (OR IS ON THE RIGHT WAY TO DO THIS) THE GOOD NAME OF JARRE.

Hi, Jean-Michel Jarre. (2) I have ONE question for You. About an album "EQUINOXE" (1978). About "track 2". More precisely about time from 2m00s to ending track. When I listen, I found in this place some high-frequency waves (I use by the specially altered equipment). I listen music on the High Quality CD Player (on the serial ones this effect don't hear) Other Your albums (I have 1976-1993) don't have this effect. Question: It is made specially or there is the error mastering? With best regards Sergey Yelisseyev.

Hi jean michel I think your work is truly amazing I've been a great fan since 9and 11 years on the feelings ain't changed. what worries me though is the whole business oxygene. It's great but I think it's gone a bit what with oxygene odessey I don't like the fact that most of your work has to be remixed to be appreciated. I prefer the original mixes and think that the mixers steal the glory of your hard work. Keep up the good work

A bon entendeur, salut!

I like Jean Michel Jarre' s music very much. I was at the concert in Milano some months ago, and it was excellent. I would like to know when will all the remasters be available in Italy. Some of them (Waiting for Costeau, Rendez-Vous, Revolution) are only available import, so they are very expensive; also, I can't see the remastered "Zoolook". Best regards to Jean Michel
