So Near And Yet So Jarre London Docklands 1988: Posters with maps showing everyone exactly where to go, which Metro stations to use and where to catch the special buses. Thousands of fans. Many gates. Friendly marshalls to guide everyone in an orderly fashion to their seats. Stadium type seating erected specially so everyone can get a good view. An area in front for those who want to get closer and dance. Food and drinks for sale. T-shirts and other concert merchandising available. The music starts. The lasers, the fireworks. A fantastic exhilarating experience. Moscow Sparrow Hills 1997: No-one seems to know exactly where to go. Metros completely jammed or closed. Millions of people streaming in blocking all access roads. Squads of nervous riot police with shields and batons. Mobs of drunken hooligans and skinheads chanting and smashing bottles. Militsia cars speeding through the crowded streets scattering families and small children in all directions. Pushing, shoving, shouting. Where is it? When is it? What's happening? Children crying and screaming as the crowd crush begins. No seating. No food or drink. No toilets. No T-shirts. No crowd control. We end up cramped together so far from the university building that no-one can see the main attraction or hear the music. The privileged however, have a special area up the front somewhere. The Migs scream overhead to start the gig. The multitude surges forward. Panic sets in. Along with many others we struggle desperately until we finally make it out just barely alive an hour later. Was this really a concert for the people or a private performance for Moscow's Mayor Lushkov's chosen elite? Later we discover to our horror that even though no mention was made in the TV guide, the concert was broadcast live on Russian TV. Typical. I was on the your Moscow's show (6 Sept 97) That was GREAT ! Main Building (GZ) has length about 500 m and height about 150 m And you showed movie on the such a big "screen" Light effects were cool too But the biggest excitiment was caused by fireworks There is only one note: highlighted words "NO SEX" while "Revolution" was played What did you mean ? ;-)

Congrats and thx Jean Michel to you and those like you. The early pioneers of electronic music. I first discovered you at the age of seven. (I'm only as old as Oxygene ;>) I was digging through my parents LPs and came across Oxygene. Needless to say I feel instantly in love with it. Later that day while digging through the collection again I discovered a Klaus Schultze LP and a Tangerine Dream LP. A week later I was taking piano lessons and teaching myself about computers. Back then it was coding in Basic on a TI *tee hee* I hope to make it to europe some time to see you live but school keeps me very busy (and broke) but my music is bringing in more and more money. I wish I had more time to spend with it but once again school is the #1 priority for now. Eh oui, c'est encore, l'eternel raleur ( mais il en faut , sinon, les choses n;'evoluent pas, pas vrai ?!) Comme vous avez pu le constater, alors que tous les sites de fans regorgent deja d'informations sur le dernier concerta Moscou, le site est, une fois de plus a la traine... Peut etre aura-t-on des photos d'ici la ffin de l'annee, sait-on jamais !!! J'espere seulement que les webmasters lisent de temps en temps les remarques des fans et pourront corriger le tir !! ( d'ailleurs, je vais dire la meme chse plus tard en anglai, comme ca j'aurai plus de chance !) En tout cas, le moins qu'on puisse dire, c'est qu'ils sont tres doues avec les mailing lists, je me suis inscrit peu apres l'ouverture du site a la mailing list qui est censee nous informer du moindre petit UPDATE ( je ne sais pas si ils comprennent bien toutes les implications du mot !) .. Resultat, j'ai du recevoir un mail depuis le debut fevrier !! Pas mal, me direz-vous, certains d'entre vous n'en ont meme pas recu un seul !! Quoi ? Il n'y a pas eu d'update depuis fevrier, alors c'est normal qu'on n'ait rien recu !!?? ;-))) Treve de plaisanterie, ce site n'est vraiment pas a la hauteur des esperances que je mettais en lui, et je pense parler au nom d'une majorite de fans en disant qu'il serait temps que les webmasters reagissent et s'activent un peu !!! Voila donc l fin de mon petit coup de gueule de la semaine, je vous dis a tous a bientot a Paris et Lille !!
