Sony Music Deal With Jean-Michel Jarre

January 7th 1997. Today, Sony Music Entertainment Europe, proudly announce that they have signed a long term global licensing deal with Disques Dreyfus for both new material and existing back catalogue of composer/artist Jean Michel Jarre. The deal covers all territories excluding France, Belgium, Switzerland and all Eastern European countries which remain Disques Dreyfus' direct exploitation territories.

The first album to be released, under the new deal, will be Oxygene 7-13 set for release on CD, MC, audiofile LP and MiniDisc, on 17th February. This will be preceded on 27th January by the single ÒOxygene part 8Ó , with remixes by Hani, DJ Dado, Takkyu Ishino and Antoine Clamaran/Laurent Wolf/Laurent Pautrat.

Oxygene 7-13 will be launched at a press conference in London on Thursday 30th January attended by media from across Europe.

Jean Michel Jarre commenced work on Oxygene 7-13 some two years ago and it was then eighteen months in the making. He returned to the influences and original analogue equipment that he used to create Oxygene.

In April, Sony will re-issue 5 of the catalogue titles at Top price - Oxygene. Equinoxe, Houston-Lyon, Images (the best of ) and Chronologie - with enhanced packaging and bonus tracks. They will also be available for the first time on MiniDisc.

In addition, Jean Michel Jarre will undertake his first arena tour in Europe in May/June. Dates are being co-ordinated by Barrie Marshall at Marshall Arts, London.
